Local/Hawaiian artist, Hardkoa/Albert Weight, shares the aloha of Hawaii through Hardkoa oil paintings, Hardkoa paper sculptures and Hardkoa pen & graphite drawings, with a passion for art and a fascination for art of the Polynesian and indigenous cultures. Tiki art, Kapa/Tapa/Hawaiian textile prints, and tribal tattoos have influenced Hardkoa's art. Drawing from a young age, Hardkoa's interest in art evolved to oil painting and most recently sculpting. Sharing a Hawaiian perspective with his art has been influenced by his upbringing in Hawaii, and his ancestral linkage to the Hawaiian Monarchy. Creating things with aloha/love is what Hardkoa was taught growing up, the aloha represents the effort/attention put into a particular oil painting or sculpture.
